RC cars or Radio control cars can be of hobby grade or toy grade. Hobby grade cars are more durable than toy grade ones and can last longer. In late 1960s, commercially viable Radio Control cars were produced in Britain. Later many companies in America started producing them by 1970s. Since then, RC cars and trucks have undergone a revolutionary change. Many of the vehicles now produced can cross the speed of 75 mph. there are three kinds of RC cars; electric, nitro or gas powered and Trucks. Two very popular Radio control cars for professionals as well as beginners are Traxxas and HPI.

Traxxas is a Texas based company which manufactures hobby level Radio control cars, trucks and buggies. It offers both electric and nitrogen powered cars. Some famous models from Traxxas have been Revo, Stampede, T- maxx, Jato.

HPI savage is a manufacturer of radio control or RC cars and trucks. HPI stands for Hobby products international and the cars are manufactured in Taiwan. It manufactures 1/8th scale trucks which have massive tires and can withstand tremendous abuse on tough terrains. Some models of trucks manufactured by HPI savage are Savage 21, Savage SS, Savage 25, Savage ATV, Savage X and Savage Flux HP, the last being the latest one.
